FAMILY FESTIVAL IN A MAGICAL LOCATION JUNE BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND!
Drink in the joys and beauty of the season at the Inistioge Summer Festival this June Bank Holiday weekend. Located between Thomastown and New Ross this stunning village is set in the heart of the beautiful Nore Valley. Now in its fifth year the Inistioge Summer Festival has grown into a very popular festival which continues to be about traditional fun and games for all the family. There will be pony rides, circus performers, dog shows, vintage cars, a buskers’ corner and many more activities including the addition of the 'Vintage Boutique', a tasteful marquee showcasing pre-loved garments, costume jewellery and accessories.
The festival kicks off on Sunday, 2nd June, when the GAA pitch will be transformed into one big playground with a packed programme of events including from 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Adults and children alike will be amazed by circus performers, stilt walking, live music etc. The kids’ games include FREE supervised bouncy castle, free circus workshop, pony rides, body zorbs, stocks, face painting and much more. For all animal lovers this year’s festival will again include the Dog Show.
To recharge the batteries, after all these fantastic activities, there will be plenty of food and refreshments with tasty food stalls to whet the appetite. Catering for every budget, they include a summer BBQ, a marquee serving teas, coffees and locally produced homemade treats along with an array of gourmet foods and dessert stalls. In the craft and farmers market there will be a wide range of handmade crafts and gifts, childrens’ toys and a plentiful supply of organic local produce to purchase.
The day will wind down on Sunday evening, as Fourpenny Rock and other performers will be giving a FREE open air concert in the Millennium Garden in the heart of Inistioge village, always a great evening’s entertainment!
Speaking at the official Inistioge Summer Festival launch, Jackie Sheehan, a member of the Festival Committee, expressed her delight at introducing the extended and enhanced 2013 festival, “The theme for the Festival revolves around traditional outdoor family entertainment in an unrivalled magical location. It’s all about fun, healthy pursuits, good food, great crafts and lots of activities for the kids! I'm also looking forward to browsing around the Vintage Boutique for some treasures, a new addition to the festival!”
The Inistioge Summer Festival is on Sunday 2nd June from 1pm until late. Entrance is FREE for children and €5 for adults.
