Many of you will remember that the Kilkenny leg of the 32 Marathons in 32 Counties was run in Inistioge last July. The race is part of a fund-raising effort by Gerry Duffy and Ken Whitelaw. Ken was in town again recently to open the Inistioge Summer Festival and there will be a report on that in a separate news item.
Gerry Duffy has written a book about his life and more specifically the places he visited during the marathons. It contains a chapter on his experiences during the Inistioge marathon and makes a very interesting read.
